CCTE-UDT 

The Technological Development Unit (UDT) is an R&D+i center dependent on the Research and Development Vice-Rectory of the Universidad de Concepción, whose field of action is the applied research and development of technological innovations. 

The Technological Development Unit (UDT) of the Universidad de Concepción began its operations in 1996 as an interface organization between university research and the needs of the national productive sector. Since then, it has performed an important work related to process scaling, product development and providing specialized technical services, running numerous projects with the productive sector in various fields and areas. Its work has transcended the Bío - Bío Region, achieving a strong national presence. 

In 2007, UDT achieved significant recognition by the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research, CONICYT, as being one of the eight national institutions in receiving the Basal Funding Program that supports Science and Technology Centers of Excellence (CCTE in Spanish). 

The thematic scope of CCTE-UDT is to develop technologies and products related to new innovations in biomaterials, bioenergy, chemical products, environment and technology management, areas in which has a clear leadership together with academicians from the Faculties of Engineering and Pharmacy of the Universidad de Concepción, and in collaboration with other professors of the University, domestic and foreign research groups and companies from the productive sector.
